Our technical staff support the interface between academic research, industry requirements and teaching. All research and innovation projects within the faculties involve multiple partners, academics, researchers, and industrial sponsors and rely heavily on the support and experience of our technician cohort.
There are plenty of important hands-on technical roles across the University, providing crucial support to our academic and research staff and students. These include roles such as Lab Assistants, Technical Supervisors, Technical Specialists, Health & Safety Co-ordinators and Workshop Technicians.
If you have a background in science, technology, engineering, or specialised trades. and enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and supporting innovative research and learning then a job in Technical Services could suit you. We'd love to hear from you if:
- You're a recent graduate with a degree or a technical qualification/certificate in relevant fields such as engineering, computer science, physics, or life sciences.
- You're a professional with experience in lab management, equipment maintenance, IT support, or other technical roles who are looking to transition into an academic environment.
