Digital Transformation

The Digital, Data and Technology Department at the University of Bath is currently on a journey. Taking the team from being a traditional IT department into a fully functioning digital and data and technology partner for the university.

The team is on a mission, an evolutionary project, to build a function that meets the needs of the University today but one that is flexible enough to respond to the needs of tomorrow as they start to launch into a wider digital transformation programme.

This will focus on the needs of the business, how to become much more customer-centric, how to bring innovation, not just how the team can support current platforms in place right now, but what exciting innovations are in the market and how can they then apply that to university.

Career pathways

The University has an ambitious vision for digital transformation and where they want to be in the next 5 to 10 years. What that means for the existing team and people wanting to join, is that they are coming in at the start of an exciting journey with the right investment around them to make sure that it is a success.

Here you can build their knowledge and access the latest kind of innovations that are coming within their space to be able to continue to move forward and progress with their careers.

Example role types currently include Software Engineering, System and Web Developers, Cyber Security, Digital Engagement and Audio Visual.

Flexible Working

We offer flexible ways of working. Our people that live in the local area come onto campus a couple of days a week and get the benefits of being together to collaborate. Equally, there is no mandate that you must be on campus 5 days a week. It’s all about striking that balance of building relationships and collaborating, which is often easier face-to-face, with giving staff the choice of being onsite or working remotely.
